This is going to be a short post from me. Just a few pointers and technology freebies for my readers. It’s been a while since I wrote any tutorials or update the blog. I’ve been very busy catching up with all the work at the office after 5 days of holiday. I can’t imagine how much of work I need to face if I took 5 weeks of holiday. So here goes short technology update from me.
WordPress 2.7 “Coltrane” released
The latest version of WP 2.7 released under the code name of “Coltrane” and I’m proud to say that I’ve upgrade to the latest version. You can get more information on the latest WordPress release here.
You can download the latest WordPress from the official site or you can use WordPress Automatic Upgrade. I’ve tested it with my blog and it works great for WordPress 2.7. You can refer to my old tutorial on upgrade WordPress using WPAU.
Hi guys, we meet again this time around. Since I don’t have much time here, I just want to make a quick update on one of most useful site (or it’s better pronounce as service) that I just found. This service is called Ding, it’s up (let’s just call it DIU for short) . Sounds funny right? Wait till you see what it really does. Keeping your blog up is important to keep your traffic coming and it’s also important to take note when your blog went down or back up again so that you can take action for it.
So what is DIU ?
Have you ever received a complaint or comment from your readers saying your blog was down even when you didn’t notice it in the first place? Or maybe if that someone was close to you or they know you personally, you might ended with a phone call or a SMS…yeah..I DID ! So this is when DIU comes handy.
DIU is a service that can check your site or your blog and let’s you know if it’s down. What’s much more better, it will also tell you when you site/blog is up again. From the DIU’s website:
Ding It’s Up is a free service that alerts you via text (SMS), twitter or email when a website goes down or when it comes back up. We will never send you a text/email unless it is to inform you about a website you requested information for – you can unsubscribe at any time. If you would like to talk to us just email us at firstname.lastname@example.org – Thanks!
Hi guys, I know it’s Friday and everyone is looking forward to their weekends right? I know I’m always looking forward to weekends so that I can spend some time off from the work at the office (although sometimes the guys still need to call me on weekends for some firewall issues). Anyway, weekends are the time I can relax at home, watching DVDs, go out with my beloved, Callister and my friends like Noktah Hitam, Syam ex-Aeropama and watch soccer games. Looking forward to Arsenal VS Chelsea this weekend. And no, I don’t want to talk about Cakra Alam anymore. Enough is enough.
This weekend I’m gonna head out of town so I don’t know if I can update my the blog or something. (yeah, like I update my blog on daily basis).Maybe I can take the weekend off and write more tutorials to be published next week or just chill out. I will be heading to Skudai, Johor for the weekend for a wedding party and I would welcome anyone from Johor if they want to meet up there. (like I was some celebrity or something, I can’t find any reasons people want to meet me anyway.) If you do, please leave a comment or contact me using the Contact Me page.
Basically he wanted to know how to put corner screen widget (actually I don’t know what it’s called) like my RSS feed button on the top right of my blog.
So Am, here’s the tutorial that you wanted ! It’s a simple one, so don’t be surprised how simple it can be.
